Lauren-Elaine Hunt-Founder/Children's Department Director. LNL Certified.
Lauren-Elaine Hunt is the Founder of Dance Studio 150 since 2011. She has trained extensively for more than 20 years in Russian classical ballet and other dance disciplines such as pas de deux, modern, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, tap and hip-hop. She has danced in many lead roles in a variety of performances including Gretel in Sleeping Beauty and as a Russian dancer and Snowflake in the Nutcracker. She has choreographed many praise and worship pieces and has served as a Dance Instructor for local studios from 2006-2011. Her passion for children has been a clear calling for her life along with choreographing pieces to be performed by advanced students.
In addition to her passion for dance, Lauren-Elaine enjoys inspiring people to be the very best version of themselves through being a Wellness Coach. Body. Mind. Spirit. She is wife to Matt and Momma to Ellie (5) and Noah (4.)
Lauren-Elaine’s desire is to equip children to be a light in the arts community by developing confident and gracious prima ballerinas who use their God- given talents to encourage and inspire those touched by their art form.
Kia Cheyenne- Upper Division Artistic Director
Kia began ballet as a toddler with Ballet West in Salt Lake City, Utah and loved it so much she never stopped dancing. She graduated High School early and moved to New York City as a teenager. She trained with SAB and went on to obtain her BFA in dance from NYU. Kia has had the privilege of working with, and being mentored by some of the most influential performers in the Ballet and Broadway industry, two of her favorites being Kay Mazzo of New York City Ballet and Randy Skinner. She has studied all styles of dance for over 20 years, but her favorites are ballet, musical theatre, contemporary, and tap (she is horrible at hip hop, don’t ever ask her to do that) . Kia has worked professionally on Broadway and dances as a freelance ballet dancer across the US in classical & contemporary ballet’s. A few of her favorite credits include include Broadway: Radio City Christmas Spectacular, 42nd st, The Music Man, A Chorus Line, and Carousel and favorite ballet’s include Fancy Free, Sleeping Beauty, Giselle, and Variations. Kia is a proud member of Actors Equity Association (AEA).
Carrie Ruth Trumbo- Upper Division ballet, intermediate pointe, & strength and stretch
Ms. Trumbo was born in Orlando, FL and began training at the Orlando Ballet School under the direction of Fernando Bujones. In 2008 she was offered a traineeship with Charlotte Ballet where she studied with Patricia McBride and Mark Diamond. The following year she joined Tulsa Ballet’s second company where she spent two seasons before being promoted to the main company in 2011. In 2012 she joined Ballet Des Moines for its inaugural season where she performed soloist roles in a variety of repertoire. Ms. Trumbo also danced with American Contemporary Ballet in Los Angeles before joining Oklahoma City Ballet in 2016. Her repertoire includes works by Twyla Tharp, Ronald Hynd, George Balanchine, Ben Stevenson, Ma Cong, Robert Mills, Marcello Angelini, and John Cranko.
Brianna Moriarty - Upper Division ballet & beginning pointe
Brianna Moriarty is from Naples, Florida where she began her dance training at a very young age in ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, tap, and hip hop. She turned her focus to ballet and contemporary as she grew up training with Miami City Ballet, School of American Ballet, and Boston Ballet just to name a few. At the age of fifteen, Brianna moved to Seattle to train at Pacific Northwest Ballet where she moved up through the school and continued into their Professional Division Program. Once she graduated from PNB, Brianna received an offer from Nevada Ballet Theatre to join the company. Brianna spent two years dancing in Las Vegas professionally, also getting the opportunity to perform and work with Cirque du Soleil. Last September, Brianna moved to Oklahoma to join Oklahoma City Ballet and she is excited to continue to teach and inspire the students of Dance Studio 150.
Rebekah Brown- Children's Department ballet and Jazz
Miss Rebekah Kaye Brown, has studied dance for 14 years and has been with Dance Studio 150 since its beginning. In addition to her skills as a dancer, choreographer, and teacher, her love of dance has grown under the tutelage of Lauren-Elaine and Olivia. Rebekah’s desire is to share with other young dancers the same joy for dancing that was instilled in her at Dance Studio 150. Rebekah was an intern at Dance Studio 150 for two years, and is now a teacher. In addition to her passion for dance, Rebekah is studying math at Oklahoma City University. Her dream is to instill the love of dance by choreographing and teaching students about the joy that can be found when we pursue our dreams and give our best.
Abigayle Hurlbut - Children's Department ballet & jazz. LNL Certified.
Abigayle Hurlbut was born and raised in Salina, Kansas where she fell in love with the art of dance while attending a studio in the city. During this time, she studied classical ballet, tap and American jazz. She helped direct a dance team in her community, choreographing various worship, contemporary and hip-hop pieces. Abby also choreographed for multiple main stage productions when working with a local theater team; also performing as a Waltz Flower in The Nutcracker. After moving to Oklahoma in 2014, she continued her education at Dance Studio 150, participating in their upper division program and was part of its traveling ensemble company. Abby completed an internship with the studio over the 2016-2017 season, began teaching with the studio in 2017 and continues as a member of the Dance Studio 150 children’s department staff. Abby currently majors in business/studio management and cherishes the privilege to encourage each dancer toward wholehearted pursuit of their dreams while glorifying God in all that they do!
